20 Days!

OK, so no pictures for this one yet, but just a couple of random things. Today Nick and I have 20 days until we go to visit Nana, Pops, and everyone in Oklahoma (we are super excited). And to keep Nick from asking me 20 times a day if we are leaving for OK, I thought of a genius idea. I made a calender, it starts today (July 1st) and goes until the day we leave (July 20th) and every night before he goes to bed he gets to cross of one day so that he knows how long we have before we leave. I'm calling it our "Countdown to Nana & Pops", hopefully it goes well, Nick is excited about it.

Just a quick story for Andrea and Jackson (I don't know if Jim told you this the other day). Nicholas loves everyone in Oklahoma, especially the girls and Baby Q- I'm not sure if we will ever get him to call Quentin anything but "Baby Q". Since our last trip to visit everyone, Nick has been stuck on Uncle Jackson, at least once a day he tells me that Uncle Jackson is nice, or that he is Lilly and Baby Q's daddy, etc. Well the other night we had ordered pizza for dinner and after Nick had finished what was on his plate, he said he wanted another piece and when he didn't eat it I told him that I was going to put it back if he didn't eat it. He threw a fit (crying, yelling, etc.) because he was saving it for Uncle Jackson and was worried that Jackson wouldn't have any pizza and would be hungry. It took me 30 minutes to convince him that Aunt Andrea would feed Uncle Jackson and that we didn't need to save him any pizza.

I just thought you would laugh at that, next time it happens I'm not sure if I'll be able to convince Nick that we don't have to save food for anyone ;) Love you guys.

My 21st Birthday!

For my birthday this year, the family here in Rolla all got together at Applebee's for dinner (we celebrated Mother's Day during this as well). However, I didn't turn 21 until the next day so no drunken pictures for you :) these are just pictures of Nick and my niece Mia that I took while waiting for our food. I've decided that Nicholas has perfect hair...sometimes he looks like a baby version of Robert Pattinson (aka Edward Cullen of Twilight), only Nick's hair is usually sticking up everywhere (kinda like Harry Potter). This was a good hair day and it involved a lot of hair spray and gel for him.

Nick's Cake

Part of Nick's Easter package from Nana and Pops this year was a cake mix and icing with sprinkles. While Nick took his nap one day I baked the cake and iced it, then when he got up I let him put all the sprinkles on. Obviously from the pictures you can tell that I supplied more sprinkles than the ones that just came with the icing. I got down every type of sprinkle we had in the cabinet and let him go crazy- here is the result. It tasted better than it looks :) Oh- and he now has to sing "Happy Birthday" everytime we have cake (and we have to light candles and everything). So this sprinkle cake had 3 or 4 candles in it and we sang "Happy Birthday" at least 25 times. Yesterday, he even made himself what he called a "birthday cake cheese": he was eating a slice of cheese and tore a corner off and stuck it in the middle and sang "Happy Birthday" to himself repeatedly.

Nick's Birthday Party at home

Once we got home from OK, it was time to have Nick's birthday party for everyone here in Missouri. The theme was Baby Einstein- not because he likes it or even watches it, but because I bought the everything for it back when my sister still worked at the party supply store in town. I got everything for $.50 a piece, so party supplies cost me like $7. I was proud of myself for both remembering that I had bought the stuff and actually using it and not changing my mind. I only took a couple of pictures of his cakes, but my mom took pictures of him unwrapping his presents and everything and they aren't on my laptop (yet). I'll get them posted tonight once he goes to bed and I'm on the computer at home. I've been slacking in the picture taking department, but am trying to do better. :)

Everything all set up

My mom decorated this. We ordered the cake decorations off of ebay and they didn't get there until the morning of the party.

I can't use a computer or figure one out apparently :)

Just so everyone knows the reason for the lack of posts: I forgot which email account I used to create this and I just figured out how to get the password sent to me yesterday. Apparently I lack computer skills. :) Anyway now that I remember my password/email combination I have a lot of stuff to post on here so there are going to be a lot of new pictures and little story things posted today and tomorrow.
This first new post has pictures from a trip Nick and I took to the Springfield zoo a couple of weeks before our last trip to Oklahoma (in March) and then a picture I took at Nick's birthday celebration. The reason there is only one picture from our trip: I thought that I had forgotten my camera- turns out I had put it in my backpack with my laptop and not in my purse where it usually is. We had a lot of fun visiting with family- we were able to watch a few minutes of Lilly's softball practice, Nick got to play with his cousins, I got to go out with Jenny and Andrea (which was awesome- thanks guys I love you), and the five cousins celebrated Nick's birthday with a McDonald's picnic in the living room floor- except for Q who ate baby food. So here are the pictures. Love you guys.

Bowling!

Saturday My friend Kelsey, her boyfriend Billy and I took Nick and their daughter Savannah bowling. It was hilarious. Nick would help me carry the bowling ball to the lane, push it so it would roll, then would lie down in the middle of the floor and watch it hit the pins. Absolutely adorable. After bowling we took them to McDonald's so they could play in the play place and get rid of extra energy. Billy actually went in the play place with Nick and Savannah so it was really funny. As we were leaving McDonald's a sheriffs car went flying past the restaurant and Nick went crazy, he loves police cars. Every time we see one he tells me he wants to talk to the poleeseman. It's really cute. Then we went to Kelsey and Billy's and decorated cupcakes. Needless to say both the kids were hyped up on soda, icing, and cake. They were running around screaming and laughing.

Waiting and watching

Here he is rolling the ball. He took it very seriously.

I tried to take a picture of the two of us and he turned his face away right before the flash went off.

Spaghetti Night

I brought my camera with me to campus today, so everyone gets to see how entertaining dinner is with Sir Nicholas. It's much funnier in person, so be prepared for next month. :)

His favorite food: Pasta of any kind

He was dancing. If you've seen the Steve Martin movie "The Jerk", then you've seen the way my son dances. Poor kid can't keep a beat to save his life.

"OMG! Put the camera away Mom!"

No new pictures, but here are some I found

I've been super busy getting lesson's ready to give presentations on, but I have taken pictures. Unfortunately, I post everything when I'm on campus and I keep forgetting my camera on my bookshelf. I promise I will get the new ones up tomorrow. They include a video of Nick singing his "I love you" song, it's supposed to be really cute, but it turned out really funny because he was eating spaghetti while he sang it. We've both been doing pretty good. He started potty training this weekend and we are working on getting rid of the binki. He really likes the potty training because if he goes he gets an M&M and a sticker. I'm really excited because I have a presentation on Thursday and another one next Tuesday, but then I do absolutely nothing in one of my classes except listen to other people give presentations. Enough of me rambling on, here are pictures for you. Love you guys.

This is from July 4th. He won a pirate coin.

Old Fashioned Pictures From Daycare

Nick's daycare took these right before Christmas and I just got them back a couple of weeks ago. I think they're adorable, but that might just be me. I'm going to get some copies ordered to bring with us in March, so please let me know which ones you like best and which sizes you would like.

To start with..

Okay, so I decided to take a page out of Andrea's book and make a blog so it would be easier for everyone to see what Nick and I are up to. I'm going to try to update this weekly, but possibly more often, it depends on what I have to do for school. Most likely updates will be Mondays, because right now I'm sitting in the library eating dinner before my class at 6. Anyway for tonight's pictures and tale of last weeks events (which probably don't have pictures :D)... Last night Nick and I went to my friend Kelsey's to watch the Super Bowl. No pics from that but Nickle had fun playing with Kelsey's daughter Savannah and eating. I made my first bulletin board today (there is a pic of that). Umm... I guess that's all the exciting stuff for now so here are a couple of the pictures, I have to go to class but will put more up later. Hope you like them. Love you guys.

Nick fell asleep with his little Craftsman hammer, if if was up to him he would sleep with the entire tool set.

My bulletin board for Secondary Methods. It's a Marie Antoinette Fact or Fiction game. There's a statement on each of the little cards and they flip up to reveal if it is a fact or gives you the correct answer if it's incorrect.
